The Jon Mackenzie Band ft. Chris Agnew
We are excited to bring, for the first time, the Jon Mackenzie Band to our club.
Jon Mackenzie plays a variety of guitar styles, but specialises in blues, country, and rock n’ roll.
His huge talent has led to session work with Kyle Falconer (The View), Alabama 3, Barrie James, Ashley Campbell, Colonel Mustard and Fay Fife (Rezillos) to name a few.
Recently he played pedal steel on the song ‘Riverside,’ by Barrie James featuring Lana Del Rey.
Jon also works regularly in musical theatre. His recent shows include ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ ‘The Stamping Ground’ and the award winning ‘Janis Joplin Full Tilt.’
His current main gig is playing guitar and writing with the very talented Kirsten Adamson.
Chris Agnew (The Rezillos) played recently at our club with Sandy Tweeddale to huge acclaim and we welcome him back again playing bass supporting Jon Mackenzie.

Our Venue
In the intimate atmosphere of the Prestonfield Golf Club function room where all guests get a comfortable seat, you get stunning views of 'Arthurs Seat' and the surrounding landscape. With our very welcoming bar staff, visitors to the club will find drinks prices at a reasonable level. Doors open at 18.30 on club nights with the support band commencing around 19.30. The main artiste usually commences around 20.45 and last orders at the bar are at 22.00

Our Support Band-The Barking Magpies
One of the many ingredients important for Blues Music is being under the influence and 'The Barking Magpies' are definitely under the influence of Ry Cooder, Brownie McGhee and Robert Johnson.
This early blues style from the Delta is loosely defined and can be felt throughout the band's eclectic style. By adding a contemporary twist, an infusion of jazz, and splashes of 70's rockin' blues, you'll get a feeling of what to expect of this band's performance.

Our club brings together talented musicians, enthusiastic fans and the vibrant energy of the Blues community. We proudly support local blues artists, providing them with a platform where they showcase their talent whilst demonstrating their styles as they move in and out of the different Blues genres.
